New Project with The Electoral Commission: Building Democratic Debate in SEN schools

We’re thrilled to share some fantastic news: Smart School Councils is working on an exciting new project supported by The Electoral Commission!

Together, we’ll be working to engage young people with special educational needs in meaningful and creative conversations about democracy.

Over the coming months, we’ll be creating and delivering interactive debate videos to SEN schools across England. These resources will give students the opportunity to explore important topics, express their views, and build confidence to take part in the political process.

This partnership reflects a shared commitment between Smart School Councils and The Electoral Commission to ensure every young person feels that they have the knowledge and confidence to participate in elections By giving students tools to engage in democratic processes, we’re helping to nurture a generation that understands the power of their voice and its impact on the world around them.

A huge thank you to The Electoral Commission for supporting this initiative. This project highlights the incredible work schools are doing to ensure every child has the opportunity to participate and be heard.

We can’t wait to see the difference this project will make and look forward to sharing updates along the way. Stay tuned for more!
