A funded programme for schools in Enfield & Barking and Dagenham

Funded by the Mayor of London, we’re looking for two primary schools in Barking and Dagenham and two in Enfield to take part in a new programme called Every Voice.

This is a two year programme which will provide training and support to a small group of Year 5 / 6 pupils at risk of social exclusion.

They will be supported to set up and lead our digital tool - the Class Meeting Tool - which organises simple, quick class meetings involving every pupil. By finding questions to ask, setting up the tool and analysing involvement and supporting social action, the programme aims to build pupils’ confidence and engagement with school. Here’s an example of the tool and here’s a video of how it used.

This approach draws upon our charity’s work in supporting 360 schools nationwide.

What your school will get

  • CPD for two members of staff this term

  • In-school training for pupils this term

  • Termly support visits to support pupils

  • Membership and access to all resources on the Smart School Council programme

  • Class meetings using our digital tool evidencing SMSC and British Values

  • Ongoing support from our pupil voice experts

  • Event at the end of the year to celebrate participation

This programme is completely free.

Participant schools will also receive two days of funding to cover for the lead member of staff to support this programme.

We’re looking for schools who are:

  1. Primary schools in the London boroughs of Barking and Dagenham or Enfield

  2. Committed to involving pupils at risk of social exclusion

  3. Committed to involving every pupil in having a say
