London: 3rd July 2019

One day CPD

100% of participants would recommend CPD to a colleague, however if you are unsatisfied with the course, we’ll give you a refund.

What you will learn from this CPD

Does your school council need to be revitalised? And would you like to benefit from an easy to use approach that will save you time and make it more meaningful?

The Smart School Council Masterclass CPD will give you a clear structure to make your school council fully inclusive and build on your current approach. It will also make it easier to run and help you to engage other staff in helping you.

Based on our student voice research for the Children’s Commissioner and working with our 360 member schools, our school council experts will introduce our approach, talk you through the tools we use and give you a network of schools to get support.

What do I get?

As well as the CPD day itself, attending the CPD gives you access to Smart School Councils premium membership. This supports you after the course to create the impact in your school. Membership includes:

  • Smart School Council Manual - gives you a clear step by step plan to adopt the programme. Each step has a set of resources to help you.

  • Class Meeting Tool - to run short pupil-led meetings and easily engage every pupil

  • Access to involvement data to directly address Ofsted’s requirements around British Values and SMSC

  • Online and telephone support from our school council experts

  • Closed Facebook Group for members to share progress and challenges

  • Member newsletter - each month we’ll send you a helpful member newsletter

  • Free member network events to share progress and get tips

The CPD was a revelation! I met with a range of teachers all with some responsibility for school council/student voice, from a variety of settings and with a range of experience. The training we took part in was fast paced, fun, and above all had practical application for back at school

Ofsted Report - Burnage Academy for Boys 2018. Rated Outstanding

“Leaders ensure that pupils have a strong voice in the running of their school. For example, all pupils are expected to contribute to the work of the school council.

Small groups undertake activities in response to priorities recommended and voted on by pupils. Similarly, some of the clubs offered by the school are run by pupils as a service to others.”
